Local filtering controls for AI services, websites, text and media, with clearer search-result labels.
Added
- Independent local controls for AI service sites, AI-built websites, declared AI-written content, identifiable generated media and search answers. Choose the evidence level in Settings.
- Optional text and vision estimates using an Ollama model you install yourself. Cloud verdicts never decide this filter. Unlabelled or unreadable content can pass.
- A short introduction to local filtering for existing users. First-run onboarding stays at five steps.
Fixed
- Searches for a site by name keep the result visible while still showing its AI verdict.
- Ordinary component metadata and a Framer generator tag alone no longer count as AI-builder fingerprints.
Updating
With automatic updates enabled, use Check now in Settings › More › Updates. The installers are not code-signed; first launch requires your operating system’s confirmation.
Download 0.2.4
A maintenance release. Kitsuvo works the same as in 0.2.2; this version checks updates once more.
Updating
- With automatic updates on, 0.2.0 and later offer this version within a day, or straight away from Check now in Settings › More › Updates.
- From 0.1.0, download 0.2.3 once and install it over the old version.
Download 0.2.3
A maintenance release. Kitsuvo works the same as in 0.2.1; this version checks that updates from 0.2.1 install cleanly.
Updating
- With automatic updates on, 0.2.0 and 0.2.1 offer this version within a day, or straight away from Check now in Settings › More › Updates.
- From 0.1.0, download 0.2.2 once and install it over the old version.
Fixes, and the first version 0.2.0 can install by itself.
Fixed
- In narrow windows, dialogs opened from Settings, such as Erase everything, now appear. Before, they took the keyboard but stayed hidden.
- The start page’s fox mark is easier to see in light mode.
Changed
- The app, the start page and the tour now call Kitsuvo the first no-AI web browser.
Updating
- With automatic updates on, 0.2.0 offers this version within a day. Choose Restart now when it’s ready, or Check now in Settings › More › Updates.
- From 0.1.0, download 0.2.1 once and install it over the old version.
Kitsuvo can now keep itself up to date, and Settings is organized around what you want to do.
New
- Automatic updates, if you want them. Kitsuvo asks once. When it’s on, Kitsuvo checks kitsuvo.com once a day, downloads a new version in the background, and installs it when you restart. Nothing about your browsing is sent, every download is checked against Kitsuvo’s signing key, and Local only pauses it. Change it any time in Settings › More › Updates.
- Settings is grouped into Basics, AI, Privacy and More, with search and a “Show me around” guide.
- Close all tabs from the tab rail’s menu. Pinned shortcuts stay saved, and closing more than five tabs asks first.
Changed
- Claude and GPT connections sit together in Settings › AI. Your default assistant is chosen separately.
- The start page’s fox mark lights up as the page opens.
Removed
- The Ask AI page context panel.
Updating from 0.1.0
- 0.1.0 can’t update itself. Download 0.2.0 once and install it over 0.1.0; your data stays. From 0.2.0 on, Kitsuvo can update itself.
- The installers are still not code-signed, so Windows and macOS ask you to confirm the first time you open Kitsuvo.
The first public build of Kitsuvo for Windows and Mac.
Spotting AI-built sites
- Every page gets a score from 0 to 100 and a verdict: No strong AI signs, Possibly vibe coded, or Likely AI-built.
- Names the builder behind a site, including Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit, Base44 and 15 more, even on custom domains.
- Shows the evidence for every score in a read pane beside the page.
- Separate checks for slop and for look-alike sites that ask for a password or card. Only look-alikes interrupt you.
- Judges a site by most of its pages, not just the one you landed on.
- Learns where you draw the line from your own corrections, on your computer.
Cleaner searches
- Results from AI builders fold into one “Hidden by Kitsuvo” line on Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo.
- Links to likely AI-built pages wait behind a short notice. One click shows the page anyway.
- Per-site choices let you always allow or always hold a site.
The browser
- Address bar on top, tabs in a side rail, and a start page that works as a launcher.
- Tab groups: combine tabs into named, coloured groups.
- Background tabs sleep after 30 minutes to free memory.
- Responsive mode for checking a site at phone and tablet sizes.
- Developer tools on by default.
- Agent mode, so Playwright, MCP clients and scripts can drive Kitsuvo.
Privacy
- Detection runs on your computer. There is no telemetry.
- The only outside calls are to the AI engines you choose, with your own keys or Kitsuvo Plus. Sign-in pages, localhost and private addresses are never sent.
- An optional local model, plus export and erase for everything Kitsuvo stores.
- Keys live in macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager, never in a file.
Known issues
- The installers are not code-signed. Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper ask you to confirm the first time you open Kitsuvo.
- Kitsuvo doesn’t update itself yet. Check this page for new versions.
