AI website detector alternatives: web checkers vs a browser

Two popular web checkers and one browser all answer the same question, was this site built with an AI builder. They differ in where they run, what they read and what you give up.

If you are looking for AI website detector alternatives, you probably have one of two jobs. Either you want to check a single site someone sent you, or you want AI-built sites to stop turning up in your searches. The tools below split along that line. This comparison covers two web checkers, AI Website Detector and Is That Vibe Coded, and one browser, Kitsuvo.

We make Kitsuvo, so weigh our view with that in mind. Everything said about the other two comes from their own public pages as read on October 10, 2026. Limits, prices and builder counts change, so check their sites before you rely on a number.

AI Website Detector (aiwebsitedetector.com)

AI Website Detector is a scanner you use by pasting a URL, with no account needed. Its page says it examines HTML, scripts, CDN patterns and HTTP headers, and reports the builder, a confidence score, the signals it matched and a screenshot. It also lists the wider stack, such as CMS, hosting and analytics, and goes deeper on WordPress sites.

  • Good at: a quick answer with a visible reason, plus stack details beyond AI builders. It offers an API, with paid plans starting at 12 euros a month per its page.
  • Limits it states: accuracy of 85 to 99% for major platforms with clear fingerprints, and an estimate only when a site left no identifiable trace. The free tier allows 10 scans per 30 minutes without an account and 100 a day with one.
  • Worth knowing: it gives you a verdict label per scan, not a view across everything you browse.

Is That Vibe Coded (isthatvibecoded.com)

Is That Vibe Coded is a free checker that returns a 0 to 100% confidence score that a site was built mostly by prompting an AI app builder. Its page says it looks for generator tags, script paths, CDN URLs and DNS records, and that it loads pages in a headless browser to catch signals that only appear after JavaScript runs. Visual patterns such as purple gradients only corroborate a score; they cannot raise it without a stronger builder signal.

  • Good at: being explicit about method. It explains how the score is built, separates "signs of AI-assisted development" that do not change the score, and offers an MCP server so an AI assistant can call it.
  • Data handling it states: scans are not logged or stored, and IP addresses are held in memory for a few seconds to enforce rate limits.
  • Limits it states: detection is best effort, not forensic, because built sites can be customized to hide their origin.

Kitsuvo

Kitsuvo takes a different shape. Instead of a place you visit to check a link, the browser itself scores every page as it loads, names the builder when a fingerprint matches, and lists the evidence behind the number. With filtering on, likely AI-built results are hidden in Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo, with a notice and one click to restore any of them.

  • Good at: coverage without effort. It sees the page as rendered, including scripts injected after load, and it never opens a search result in the background.
  • Privacy: detection runs on your computer and Kitsuvo has no telemetry. Optional cloud AI checks are off by default and send a short page digest straight to the provider you pick.
  • Limits: you have to use a different browser, it only judges pages you open, and it is not a bulk-lookup service. Detection depends on recognizable traces, so new or heavily customized sites can be missed.

Which one should you use?

  1. One link someone sent you: a web checker is the fastest path, and it avoids installing anything. Run it through two checkers if the answer matters.
  2. A list of sites, or an automated pipeline: pick a checker with an API or MCP server.
  3. Cleaner searches every day: use a browser that filters results, so you do not have to remember to check.
  4. A site you must trust with a password or card: do not rely on any score. Read how to check if a website is legit.

You can also do the checks by hand in a few minutes. Our manual guide lists the six traces every one of these tools looks for, and AI website detector tools compared covers the wider categories, including extensions and tech-stack profilers. The roundup of best AI-generated website detectors adds SEOJuice, VibeEval and two Chrome extensions.

What to demand from any detector

  • Evidence you can check. A bare percentage cannot be argued with or corrected.
  • Builder names only on fingerprints. Design alone cannot tell Lovable from Bolt from a person using the same components. The fingerprints are listed in how to tell if a website was built with an AI builder.
  • Honest doubt. A low score means no strong signs, not proof of human authorship.
  • A clear statement of what leaves your device. Checkers learn every address you submit; know which kind of tool you are using.

Questions people ask

Is aiwebsitedetector.com free?

It has a free tier. On October 10, 2026 its page listed 10 scans per 30 minutes without an account and 100 scans a day with a free account, with paid API plans from 12 euros a month. Check the site for current limits.

Does Is That Vibe Coded need an account?

No. Its page describes it as free with no signup, and says scans are not logged or stored. Rate limits still apply.

Which AI website detector is the most accurate?

There is no independent benchmark that ranks them, and each tool describes its own results as estimates. Prefer one that shows the exact fingerprints it matched, so you can verify the call yourself.

Can an AI website detector be wrong?

Yes. Builders change their traces, owners can remove badges and generator tags, and human developers use the same component kits. A score is a reason to look closer, not proof of how a site was made.
